Overview of Pirelli SCORPION ICE ZERO 2 (STUDDED)
The Pirelli Scorpion Ice Zero 2 (STUDDED) has been specifically designed for high-end cars offering high performance, but also delivering a maximum amount grip to the pavement. Available in sizes ranging from 16" to 22", it can be installed on sports sedans, SUVs and multi-segment vehicles of the latest generation. Compared to previous versions, the Scorpion Ice Zero 2 (STUDDED) has been redesigned and lightened, all of which helps to reduce the total weight of the tire. However, the number of crampons has been increased compared to the previous generation of the Ice Zero series, which contained about 130 crampons. Now there are 190 studs buried in the surface of the tire. This new arrangement of the studs guarantees both a high level of grip, even in the most slippery conditions, as well as a low level of noise, which was not the case with the regular layout. All this has been integrated into a directional tread design capable of providing the best compromise between the requirements of a studded tire, noise reduction, as well as maintaining optimal performance in snowy conditions.

Frequently asked questions
What does the “studded” label mean on a tire?
A studded tire is a winter tire already fitted with metal studs at the factory, embedded directly into the tread during manufacturing. Unlike a studdable tire, no further installation is needed: the tire is ready to drive on right out of the box, offering maximum grip on glare ice, freezing rain, and hard-packed snow. This type of tire is especially suited to regions with harsh climates or drivers who regularly face extreme winter conditions, but it may be banned or regulated in certain provinces or countries depending on local laws.
